Clovelly Village Terms and Conditions of Entry

1. Your Agreement with Us

By confirming your visit and purchasing an admission ticket to Clovelly Village, you agree that these Terms and Conditions form a binding contract between you and Clovelly Estate Company Ltd. Please read them carefully before completing your booking.

2. Entry Policy and General Conduct

Clovelly Estate Company Ltd aims to ensure a safe, enjoyable, and respectful environment for all visitors, staff, and residents. By entering the Estate, you agree to adhere to the following rules:

  • Zero Tolerance Policy: Any form of verbal abuse, aggression, or violence towards staff, tenants, or other visitors will result in immediate removal from the Estate without refund and may lead to a permanent ban.

  • Right to Refuse Entry: Clovelly Estate Company reserves the right to refuse admission or request any individual to leave the premises for any reason deemed necessary, including but not limited to breaches of these Terms and Conditions.

  • Proof of Entry: All visitors must hold a valid admission ticket or wristband for entry. Wristbands must be retained and presented for re-entry on the same day.

3. Child Safeguarding Commitment

Clovelly Estate Company is dedicated to providing a family-friendly environment that is safe for children and young people. We are committed to protecting all young visitors from harm, abuse, or neglect and take safeguarding responsibilities seriously. Children under 16 must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times.

4. Weather & Outdoor Environment

Clovelly is primarily an outdoor attraction and, as such, is subject to changing weather conditions:

  • We may be required to close the village or restrict access to certain areas due to severe weather, such as high winds, heavy rain, or icy conditions.

  • Please wear suitable footwear and clothing for uneven terrain and varying weather.

  • No refunds or compensation will be issued for weather-related closures unless otherwise stated.

5. Admission & Ticketing

  • Non-Refundable Tickets: All admission tickets are non-refundable, non-transferable, and void if altered or duplicated.

  • Lost or Forgotten Tickets: Clovelly Estate Company does not offer replacements for lost tickets. Please ensure you bring your valid ticket on the day of your visit.

  • Photocopies Not Accepted: Only original, valid tickets will be accepted. Tickets presented in any other format may be refused.

  • Limited Opening Times: Some attractions and facilities may be closed or operate limited hours during off-peak seasons or maintenance periods.

6. Online Booking Policy

  • Confirmation emails or digital tickets must be shown on arrival.

  • Online tickets are subject to the same non-refundable and non-transferable conditions as standard admission tickets.

7. Concession Tickets

We offer discounted entry for qualifying guests:

  • Carers: One free carer ticket per guest with disabilities, provided they are over 18 and accompanying on a 1:1 basis.

Accepted proof of eligibility includes:

  • Carer’s card (e.g. MAX Card, Access Card with carer symbol)

  • Disability-related benefit documentation (DLA, PIP)

  • Disability identification card (used alongside full-paying guest admission)

All supporting documentation must be presented at the Ticket Office upon arrival. Failure to present valid proof may result in full admission being charged.

8. Behaviour, Safety & Security

To ensure the safety and enjoyment of all visitors:

  • Dogs: Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a lead at all times. Owners are responsible for cleaning up after their pets.

  • Alcohol & Drugs: Alcohol may only be consumed in designated areas. Visitors under the influence of alcohol or any illegal substances will be refused entry or escorted from the Estate without refund.

  • Climbing & Vandalism: Climbing or standing on fences, exhibits, walls, or structures is strictly prohibited. Any damage to property may result in prosecution or legal action.

  • Vehicle Policy: No vehicles are allowed to remain on the Estate outside of operating hours unless explicitly authorised by the Estate Manager. Vehicles are left at the owner’s risk, and Clovelly Estate Company assumes no responsibility for damage, loss, or theft.

  • Lost Property: Please report any lost or found items to the Visitor Centre. Clovelly Estate Company is not responsible for personal belongings left on the premises.

9. Photography and Filming

From time to time, Clovelly Estate Company and authorised third parties may carry out photography and/or video recording within the Estate. These images may be used for promotional purposes:

  • By entering the Estate, you grant permission for your image to be used without compensation or notice.

  • If you do not wish to be photographed or filmed, please inform the Ticket Office upon arrival.

10. Events and Attractions

We strive to keep all scheduled attractions and facilities open and available. However:

  • Clovelly Estate Company reserves the right to close, cancel, or alter events and facilities without notice.

  • No compensation or refund will be issued for unavailable services unless otherwise specified.

11. Charity Requests

Clovelly Estate Company is pleased to support charitable organisations through the donation of admission tickets (no monetary sponsorships provided).

To submit a request:

  • Email visitorcentre@clovelly.co.uk with details including event name, cause, location, dates, organiser’s name, postal address, phone number, and reason for the request.

  • Requests will be reviewed based on availability and merit. While we strive to support a wide range of charitable causes, donations cannot be guaranteed.

12. Acceptance of Terms

Entry into Clovelly Village constitutes acceptance of these Terms and Conditions. Clovelly Estate Company Ltd reserves the right to amend these terms at any time without prior notice. Please visit our official website for the most up-to-date version.
